progress at last!!

yeah. DBF was mean to me. after two days of Olympics, he's like 'you're not 1/8th done with that sweater.' thanks dear!!

until today, i only had 60 rows of ribbing done. today i did 20 more and like 40 rows of yoke cabling. it is soooo lovely!!

i have a question though....raglan shaping doesn't make sense to me. THe pattern says from arm bind off on front/back to where mock turtleneck begins is 9.5 inches. i am getting 5.2 rows to the inch; pattern calls for 5.5. so that's good. and according to calculations, i have 34 rows/6.5 inches done. 16 rows left to knit, which at my gauge would be about 3 inches. so that is cool. but is a raglan shaping really that long?? yes, because the width of the sleeve needs to stretch that far? argh!!! any advice? i really want it to fit!!

Man, I wish I had some advice, but I'm pretty much a knittingnoob. You have made amazing progress, though. You must be knitting like crazy!

Looks wonderful so far. (:

I'm usually surprised at the length of a raglan seam, and how narrow the tops of the front and back pieces look before seaming. You're probably on the right track, it sounds like it. Have someone run a measuring tape around where the raglan seams would lay on your bod for reasurance maybe?

Looks great - awesome progress!
